FAST learning gains chart

Scale score ranges for each achievement level, with the Level 1 and Level 2 subcategories used for learning gains. These are the 2025-26 ranges, still in use in 2026-27.

When a score counts as a learning gain

FDOE compares last year's PM3 score with this year's PM3 score (or EOC scores). A student makes a gain by:

Between FAST Math and an Algebra 1 or Geometry EOC (either way), and between Algebra 1 and Geometry, the scales differ, so staying at Level 3, 4 or 5 counts without a higher score. A student who takes an EOC they already passed is not included. A retake of an EOC failed last year counts only for students who were in grade 8 or below last year.

The subcategories split Level 1 into three equal parts and Level 2 into two. When a range doesn't divide evenly, the top part is the smallest.
